This page explains how to have the personal data held by the messaging assistant of St. Mary’s Jin Eye Center (성모진안과의원) deleted. It applies to conversations on Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat and the chat window on this website.
How to request deletion
Send us one of the following. No account or password is needed.
- Email — write to jin.eye.center@gmail.com with the subject line “Delete my data”. Tell us which channel you used (Messenger, WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat or website chat) and the name or phone number you used there, so that we can find the right conversation.
- In the chat — reply in the same conversation with “Delete my data” and ask to be connected to a staff member. Our staff will confirm your identity and carry out the deletion.
- By telephone — call +82-2-577-7782 during clinic hours (weekdays 09:00–17:45, Saturday 09:00–15:00, Korea Standard Time).
What happens next
- We acknowledge your request within 3 business days.
- We complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming who you are, and tell you when it is done.
- There is no charge.
What we delete
- The full text of your conversation with the assistant and with our staff.
- The platform identifier linked to that conversation (Messenger page-scoped ID, WhatsApp number, LINE user ID, or website session ID).
- The name, email address, telephone number and preferred date you gave us for an appointment request, where no appointment took place.
- Any internal notes our staff attached to the conversation.
What we may have to keep
If your inquiry led to an actual examination or treatment at the clinic, the resulting medical record is kept for the retention period required by the Korean Medical Service Act and cannot be deleted on request. That record is held separately from the chat system. Where a transaction record must be kept under Korean consumer or tax law, we keep only the minimum required for the statutory period and nothing else.
Deleting your data here does not delete the copy of the conversation held in your own Messenger, WhatsApp, LINE or WeChat app. To remove that, delete the conversation inside the app itself.
Removing the app’s access on Facebook
You can also stop Facebook sharing your information with our app: open Facebook → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, find 성모진안과 상담봃, and select Remove. Then send us a deletion request using one of the methods above so that we remove the records stored on our side as well.
