Effective date: 16 September 2026
These terms govern your use of the automated messaging assistant operated by St. Mary’s Jin Eye Center (성모진안과의원) on Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat and on this website. By sending a message to the assistant you agree to these terms.
1. What the service is
The assistant answers questions about our clinic — services, indicative prices, opening hours, location, preparation for an examination — and helps you request an appointment. It can pass your conversation to a member of our staff during clinic hours.
2. What the service is not
- It is not a medical consultation. The assistant cannot examine you, cannot diagnose a condition, and cannot tell you which treatment you need. Any information it gives is general and must be confirmed by an ophthalmologist after an in-person examination.
- It must not be used in an emergency. If you have sudden loss of vision, an eye injury, severe pain, or any other urgent symptom, go to an emergency department or call 119 in Korea (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not wait for a reply here.
- Prices are indicative. The final cost depends on your examination findings and the lens or method chosen, and is confirmed at the clinic before any procedure.
- An appointment is not confirmed until we confirm it. Submitting a request through chat or the booking form does not by itself reserve a time.
3. Automated replies
Most replies are generated automatically by software. Automated replies can be incomplete or wrong. Where accuracy matters — cost, suitability for a procedure, medication, scheduling — please confirm with our staff by telephone at +82-2-577-7782 or at the clinic.
4. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate contact details if you want us to confirm an appointment.
- Do not send another person’s personal data without their permission.
- Do not send abusive, unlawful, or commercial bulk messages to the assistant.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
We may stop responding to an account that misuses the service.
5. Age
If you are under 14, please ask a parent or legal guardian to contact us on your behalf.
6. Privacy
Our handling of your messages is described in the Privacy Policy — Messaging Assistant page. You can ask us to delete your data at any time; see the Data Deletion Instructions page.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the assistant available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Staff replies are sent during clinic hours: weekdays 09:00–17:45 and Saturday 09:00–15:00 (Korea Standard Time). The clinic is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
8. Intellectual property
The text, images and materials provided through the assistant belong to St. Mary’s Jin Eye Center or its licensors and may not be reproduced commercially without permission.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on automated replies, from delays in replying, or from failures of the underlying messaging platforms. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Korean law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when the current version took effect.
