Official manufacturer product image

TECNIS Eyhance is Johnson & Johnson's monofocal plus intraocular lens. It is designed to enhance intermediate vision while keeping the sharpness and low glare of a monofocal lens.

Features of this lens

  • Monofocal-based, so less glare and fewer halos
  • Extends vision to intermediate distance (monitor, dashboard)
  • Low chromatic aberration of the TECNIS platform
  • Astigmatism-correcting (toric) option

Who this lens is considered for first

  • Those for whom glare sensitivity, such as night driving, is the top priority
  • Those who find multifocal side effects burdensome but want a wider range of vision than a monofocal lens
  • Those who want enhanced function at a reasonable cost

Summary of manufacturer technical data (Johnson & Johnson Vision)

  • Continuous refractive power surface: A surface design in which refractive power increases continuously toward the center of the lens, extending the depth of focus without a diffractive structure.
  • Same side-effect profile as a monofocal lens: Since light is not split, the night-time halo and glare profile is similar to that of a standard monofocal lens.
  • TECNIS platform: Chromatic and spherical aberration correction, rotational stability under 5 degrees (toric), TECNIS SIMPLICITY delivery.
  • Improvement in intermediate vision has been clinically confirmed; reading glasses may be needed for fine print at near.

FAQ

How is it different from a standard monofocal lens?

The surface curvature changes continuously to extend the depth of focus to intermediate distance. Because it does not split light, the side-effect profile is similar to a monofocal lens.

Will I not need reading glasses?

Reading glasses are needed for fine print at near. To greatly reduce dependence on glasses, we recommend a comparison consultation with the multifocal and EDOF families.

Is it covered by national health insurance?

For Korean nationals, cataract surgery is covered under the bundled-payment system, and out-of-pocket costs vary by lens type. Please call us for details.

The final lens choice is made after reviewing detailed corneal, retinal, and biometry test results together with your lifestyle. The actual surgery takes about 10 minutes per eye and you go home the same day. For pricing, please call 02-577-7782.
