What is EVO ICL?

ICL places a soft implantable lens inside the eye without removing corneal tissue. We use the latest U.S. Visian EVO+ ICL. Because no cornea is reshaped, it can be an option for high myopia or thinner corneas where laser surgery may not be ideal, and it is removable. Available in non-toric and toric (for astigmatism) versions.

How EVO ICL works

  1. In myopia, light focuses in front of the retina.
  2. An EVO ICL is inserted through a small corneal incision and positioned behind the iris and in front of the natural lens; corneal tissue is not removed for refractive correction.
  3. The implanted lens helps focus light on the retina. The ICL may be surgically removed if necessary.

Who may be a candidate?

People with high myopia, thin corneas, or those who are not ideal laser candidates. Suitability is confirmed after examination.

Stop wearing contact lenses before the exam — soft lenses 5 days before, hard (RGP) lenses 2 weeks before, ortho-k lenses 4 weeks before.
  2. Arrival in SeoulFrom Incheon Airport, Gangnam is typically about 1–1.5 hours away by airport limousine bus or AREX + subway, depending on traffic and your route. We are a 5-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 5. Airport pickup can be arranged on request (transfer cost paid by the patient).
  3. Examination & consultationA comprehensive eye examination and one-to-one consultation with your surgeon usually take about 2 hours in total, although the timing may vary. English and Mongolian interpretation is free; for other languages, please ask at least 3 days before your visit.

FAQ

Is ICL reversible?
The lens can be removed by a surgeon if needed.
I have a very high prescription — can I have surgery?
High myopia is often better suited to ICL; final suitability depends on your examination.

Does it hurt?
Numbing eye drops are used, and most patients feel pressure rather than pain.

When can I get back to normal activities?
Many patients notice clearer vision within a day and can resume many daily activities soon after, but recovery varies. Follow your surgeon’s advice on eye rubbing, swimming and exercise.

What are the possible risks?
Possible risks include raised eye pressure, glare or halos, cataract formation and, rarely, infection. Regular check-ups are recommended after surgery.

Can I have surgery on the same day as my exam?
Same-day surgery may be possible for some procedures if the examination confirms that you are suitable, you have stopped contact lenses for the required time, the necessary lens or equipment is available, and the schedule allows. Otherwise, we will arrange another date.

How long should I stay in Seoul?
We generally recommend allowing about one week in Seoul for follow-up care. Your surgeon will advise you when it is appropriate to fly.

What is not included in the price?
Flights, accommodation and local transport are not included. The final plan and price are confirmed after your examination.

How can I pay?
Credit cards, including international cards, and cash are accepted.

How do I contact you before my trip?
