Q. Is there pain after 7th-generation Silk Smile LASIK?
During surgery, numbing eye drops are used, so most patients feel little to no pain. 7th-generation Silk Smile LASIK uses low energy among current laser systems, reducing corneal damage and shortening procedure time. For a few hours after surgery, you may feel temporary foreign-body sensation or dryness, but most symptoms improve quickly within the same day.
Q. Are there any precautions to take on the day of surgery?
Please avoid wearing eye makeup, perfume, or lotion on the day of surgery.
Driving yourself after surgery is difficult, so we recommend having a guardian accompany you or using public transportation.
Q. Can dry eye develop after surgery?
7th-generation Silk Smile LASIK causes less damage to corneal nerves than conventional LASIK, so the incidence of dry eye is lower. This is because 7th-generation Silk Smile LASIK minimizes corneal tissue removal. Temporary dryness can usually be managed well with artificial tears within 1–3 months.
Q. When can I return to daily activities such as driving, work, exercise, and makeup after Silk Smile LASIK?
Recovery is fast enough that most patients can do light driving and office work from the day after surgery. Because 7th-generation Silk Smile LASIK uses a smaller corneal incision than conventional LASIK and is more resistant to external impact, it is especially suitable for people who enjoy exercise or active hobbies. However, depending on eye fatigue, night driving and long periods of screen use require caution for 1–2 weeks. Swimming, strenuous exercise, and eye makeup are recommended only after the eyes have fully stabilized.

실크(SILK) 스마일라식은 어떤 수술인가요
실크는 스마일라식 계열의 시력교정술입니다. 존슨앤존슨의 엘리타(ELITA) 장비를 사용하며, 각막에 절편(뚜껑)을 만들지 않고 약 2mm의 미세 절개로 각막 실질 안의 조직 조각(렌티큘)을 분리해 꺼내는 방식으로 시력을 교정합니다.
라식은 각막 절편을 만들어 젖힌 뒤 레이저를 조사하고 다시 덮습니다. 라섹은 각막 상피를 벗겨낸 뒤 표면에 레이저를 조사합니다. 실크는 이 두 방식과 달리 각막 표면의 손상을 최소화하는 것이 구조적 특징입니다.

1단계 · 점안 마취
안약으로 마취합니다.
2단계 · 레이저 조사
레이저로 각막 실질 안에 교정할 도수만큼의 렌티큘(각막 조직 조각)을 만듭니다. 각막 표면은 열지 않습니다.
3단계 · 미세 절개 및 렌티큘 제거
약 2mm의 작은 절개를 통해 렌티큘을 분리해 꺼냅니다. 이 과정에서 각막의 곡률이 변하며 시력이 교정됩니다.
4단계 · 마무리
절개창이 작아 봉합이 필요하지 않습니다.
수술 전 받는 정밀검사
