1. Patient Rights<\/h3>\n

A. Right to Receive Medical Care<\/p>\n

Patients have the right to receive appropriate healthcare services for the protection and promotion of their health. Their rights regarding health shall not be infringed upon on the basis of gender, age, religion, social status, or economic circumstances, and medical personnel shall not refuse to provide medical treatment without justifiable grounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

B. Right to Know and Right to Self-Determination<\/p>\n

Patients have the right to receive sufficient explanations and ask detailed questions from their attending physicians, nurses, and other medical staff regarding their medical condition, treatment methods, whether they are subjects of medical research, organ transplantation status, expected outcomes including side effects, and estimated medical costs. Furthermore, patients have the right to decide whether to provide consent for such matters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

C. Right to Privacy and Confidentiality<\/p>\n

Patients have the right not to have their physical or health-related secrets or personal privacy infringed upon during the course of medical treatment. Medical personnel and medical institutions shall not disclose or publish a patient's confidential information without the patient\u2019s consent, except in cases prescribed by law, such as criminal investigations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

D. Right to Request Consultation and Mediation<\/p>\n

In the event of a dispute regarding medical services, patients have the right to request consultation and mediation through organizations such as the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency (K-MEDI).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

2. Patient's Obligations<\/h3>\n

A. Duty of Trust and Respect for Medical Personnel<\/p>\n

Patients shall provide accurate health-related information to medical personnel and shall trust and respect the treatment plans prescribed by their healthcare providers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

B. Duty to Refrain from Seeking Medical Care through Fraudulent Methods<\/p>\n
