Equipment Introduction
PENTACAM
PENTACAM is a precision diagnostic device that captures three-dimensional images of the cornea from its front surface to its back surface. In just 2 seconds, it analyzes over 25,000 measurement points, enabling it to accurately detect abnormalities on the back surface of the cornea that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
In particular, we prevent surgical complications by confirming beforehand whether the cornea is sufficiently thick and safe for LASIK or LASEK surgery and whether there is any hidden keratoconus. It detects even subtle abnormalities that existing corneal topography equipment might miss, serving as the first step toward safe vision correction surgery.
Triton DRI OCT / OCTA
Manufacturer
TOPCON
This is state-of-the-art imaging equipment that captures 3D stereoscopic images of the retina and optic nerve. It provides images over 50% clearer than conventional OCT, enabling precise examinations even for patients with cataracts. It also allows for vivid visualization of retinal blood vessels without the need for contrast agent injections.
We prevent blindness by detecting early signs of conditions such as whether new blood vessels are growing in age-related macular degeneration (the leading cause of blindness), how much damage glaucoma has caused to the optic nerve, and whether retinal blood vessels are healthy in patients with diabetes.
ARK
This is the basic examination equipment you'll encounter first when visiting the ophthalmology department. Simply look into the machine, and infrared technology automatically measures your myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia prescriptions. It serves as the initial step to objectively determine how poor your current vision is and what prescription strength glasses you need. This forms the foundation for accurate vision correction and contact lens prescriptions.
IOL Master 700
Manufacturer
ZEISS
This is the key equipment that determines the success of cataract surgery. It precisely calculates the power of the intraocular lens to be implanted after surgery within a margin of error of 0.01mm. It can measure nearly 100% of patients with severe cataracts, which was difficult with existing equipment, and increases the probability of achieving clear vision without glasses after surgery to over 95%. Thanks to this equipment featuring Carl Zeiss's latest technology, patients can achieve the expected visual recovery results after cataract surgery.
K5M
This is a specialized diagnostic device for those experiencing dry, gritty eyes or a foreign body sensation without knowing the exact cause. It uses an infrared camera to capture how quickly tears evaporate and how blocked the oil glands (Meibomian glands) that produce tears are, pinpointing the precise cause of dry eye.
A-SCAN & B-SCAN
This is an ultrasound examination that looks inside the eye. An A-scan precisely measures the length of the eye to calculate the power of the intraocular lens needed for cataract surgery. B-SCAN is used when cataracts are too severe or there is bleeding inside the eye, preventing the doctor from seeing directly. It uses ultrasound to check beforehand whether the retina is attached and if there are any other problems. It is especially essential for detecting hidden retinal detachments or tumors when the eye has been injured by trauma or when vision suddenly deteriorates. Gel is applied to the eye, and the examination is performed gently; there is absolutely no pain.
Humphrey
This is the most accurate visual field testing equipment for early detection of glaucoma and monitoring its progression. It precisely measures which parts of your visual field are not visible by having you press a button when small lights flash in various locations.
This test objectively assesses the extent of optic nerve damage and whether it is worsening after treatment, ensuring that the appropriate treatment window is not missed.
ELITA SILK
Manufacturer
Johnson & Johnson Vision
The latest 7th generation SilkSmile LASIK equipment enables vision correction surgery that is one step more advanced than conventional LASIK. The corneal incision size is drastically reduced from the 20mm used in traditional LASIK to just 2-4mm, minimizing corneal damage. There is virtually no pain during surgery, and recovery is extremely fast. Recovery is so rapid that daily activities can resume the very next day, and the incidence of dry eye syndrome is significantly lower.
This minimally invasive surgical technique precisely separates only the corneal stroma using a femtosecond laser, resulting in minimal corneal nerve damage and high resistance to external impacts. It is particularly suitable for athletes and highly active individuals.
Amaris RED
Manufacturer
SCHWIND
The state-of-the-art excimer laser from Germany's SCHWIND boasts an ultra-high laser irradiation speed of 1050Hz. The 7-dimensional eye tracking system monitors even the slightest eye movements in real-time at 1050 times per second, ensuring the laser is precisely directed only to the correct location even if the eye shifts slightly during surgery. It also analyzes corneal asphericity and higher-order aberrations, enabling personalized vision correction and minimizing nighttime glare and halos. SmartPulse Technology smooths the corneal surface for superior post-operative visual quality. This minimally invasive procedure uses a femtosecond laser to precisely separate only the corneal stroma layer, resulting in minimal corneal nerve damage and high resistance to external impact. It is particularly suitable for athletes and highly active individuals.
CENTURION
Manufacturer
Alcon
Alcon's next-generation cataract surgery equipment features an innovative system that automatically adjusts intraocular pressure in real time during surgery. While conventional equipment could experience unstable intraocular pressure fluctuations during surgery, the Centurion detects pressure changes in milliseconds and instantly compensates, maintaining a stable anterior chamber throughout the procedure.
This reduces damage to corneal endothelial cells and significantly lowers the incidence of intraoperative complications. Furthermore, it enables the gentle removal of even hard cataracts while reducing ultrasound energy consumption by over 25%, resulting in less postoperative corneal edema and faster visual recovery. It provides a safer surgical option, particularly for elderly patients or those with weak corneas.
