St. Mary Jin Eye Clinic offers a wide variety of lenses to help you find the most comfortable fit.
You can make an informed decision after a thorough trial fitting of different lens types.
We also provide comprehensive lens care training and offer complimentary lens cleaning services at all times.
DreamLens is a type of special lens called a “reverse geometry lens”that
reshapes the cornea
to control or correct the progression of myopia and astigmatism.
Number of Myopia Patients by Age Group (2019)
According to the Journal of Ophthalmic Science Research, a study found that approximately 42.8% of children wearing DreamLens experienced a reduction in myopia progression.
Prevalence of myopia among teenagers: 80.4%, Prevalence of high myopia: 11.7%
In juvenile myopia, the retina—the neural tissue lining the inner surface of the eyeball—thins and the optic nerve is pulled,
potentially developing into high myopia that can cause severe eye diseases
while the eye's growth remains unchecked.
The Paragon CRT Dream Lenses at St. Mary Jin Eye Clinic are customizable corneal refractive lenses
that allow for precise height adjustments. This ensures a perfect, personalized fit for each patient's unique eye shape.
As shown in the diagram below, we adjust the 'Return Zone' and 'Landing Zone' to ensure the lens is accurately centered and fitted to the eye.
FDA-Approved Overnight Orthokeratology Lenses
Approved by the FDA in June 2002 for overnight use, these lenses are clinically recognized for their
safety and effectiveness in correcting myopia (nearsightedness) and astigmatism.
Advanced Design
Paragon HDS®100 is designed to be 30% thinner than conventional corneal refractive correction lenses, improving comfort.
Lens Identification via Laser Marking
The lens specifications are laser-engraved,
making it the only lens that not only facilitates easy left-right differentiation
but also allows for easy verification of vision and corneal shape prior
to wearing corneal refractive therapy lenses.
High Oxygen Permeability Material
Made with highly oxygen-permeable material (Paragon HDS®100) for superior oxygen transmission,
promoting eye health. (Oxygen Permeability 100: ISO Method DK X 10-11)
Precision Diagnostic Lens System
Using a precise and systematic diagnostic lens system, we select lenses tailored to each individual, enabling accurate vision correction.
The lens presses against the outermost layer of the cornea, the epithelial cells, during sleep, flattening the central part of the cornea.
This change in shape allows the cornea to act like a lens during the day, refracting light normally and improving vision.
No. The effects of DreamLens are temporary. When you stop wearing the lenses, the cornea gradually returns to its original shape, and your vision reverts to its original state.
Therefore, to maintain your vision consistently, you must wear them every night.
It is primarily used for children and adolescents during their growth period who wish to slow the progression of myopia or find wearing glasses during the day inconvenient (e.g., during sports activities).
Among adults, it can also serve as an alternative for those with mild to moderate myopia or for whom LASIK/LASEK is not feasible.
Hard lenses require daily cleaning and storage in a disinfecting solution, just like hard lenses. They demand more thorough care than regular soft lenses,
and contact with tap water should be avoided. Neglecting proper hygiene increases the risk of eye diseases.
